December District Update

by Bill Heimann

December 10, 2009

Most of eastern Nebraska was hit with a strong snow storm, causing cancellation of school for three days, December 8-10. Although the snow had stopped falling and the wind was no longer blowing, the cancellation of school on December 10 was due to the unsafe driving conditions on many bus routes, and we were still clearing snow from parking lots and driveways to the buildings on Thursday.

This month's update contains several pieces of information that may be accessed by clicking on the links to each item.

1. Summary of the December 7 Board of Education Meeting

2. Superintendent comments regarding reduction in force of classified staff

3. First Draft of Board Policy 4750 – Separation Benefits

4. Substitute teacher costs : This is a MS Excel document that shows the costs for substitute teachers through October 31, 2009. It includes number of hours used for each building and district totals.

5. Building Utility Costs through December 2009. Utility costs from the five school buildings for the 1st quarter was $171,572; compared to $179,099 in the same quarter a year ago.
