Youth Frontiers Courage Retreat

October 25, 2011

It takes courage for a student to stand up for what's right when his or her peers are going in the opposite direction. On Wednesday October 19th in an action-packed day, the Youth Frontiers Courage Retreat empowered 7th grade students at Waverly Middle School  to examine their fears and commit themselves to acting with courage. The Courage Retreat helps build a more inclusive school community by encouraging students to accept people for who they are, resist following the crowd and act with moral courage despite their fears.  For more information please go to www.youthfrontiers.org

At Youth Frontiers, their vision is to Change the way young people treat each other in every hallway, lunch line, and classroom of every school in America so that today's young people can make tomorrow's world better.

This event was made possible by the generous support of the District 145 Foundation for Education. The FFE provides a Youth Frontier retreat for students in grades 5, 7, 9, and 11. To learn more about the Foundation for Education, or how you can help support its mission, click here
