Student Recognition in School District 145 - Waverly

There are numerous examples of student success occuring in School District 145 - Waverly. Many of these items are posted on the Waverly High School Facebook page. You do not need a Facebook account to view the information, simply click the link on our website. 

Many, many student organizations, activities, and classroom happenings are going. We would like to give recognition to some of the recent acheivement of our students. The following list is not all inclusive; if we forgot something that you want us to know about or if you have other items you wish to celebrate or recognize, please post "feedback" to this article!

Meghan Grochala rocks the house in Econ! Meghan was recognized by Omaha Federal Reserve & UNO as outstanding Econ student!

Congratulations to Waverly High School student Andrew Neujahr. He has has been selected to serve as a state FFA officer.

Congrats to the following State Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) winners...Rich Black: Who’s Who in FBLA; Delta Pi Epsilon Senior Leadership Award; Honorable Mention – Economics Jared Story and Chandler HaistPeyton Schneider: Honorable Mention – Accounting 2, Honorable Mention – Business Calculations 

State FCCLA Competition results. Congrats to Emily Hoss in receiving a gold medal at the FCCLA (Family, Career, & Community Leaders of America) State Leadership Competition

Skills USA Results. Congratulations to Trevor Spath 2nd place - Job Interview; Bryce Johnson 3rd place - Metric 500; Zack Giesler and Austin Schwegman (team) 2nd place Web Design

The Waverly High School Music Department had another extremely successful District Music Contest. Congratulations to the Freshman Band - Superior rating; Varsity Band- Superior rating;
Waverly Singers - Superior rating; Waverly solos/duets/small ensembles - multiple superior ratings!

Publishing Parties at Eagle Elementary recognize the student accomplishments.

Circle of Friends at Hamlow Elementary helps students learn social skills with their peers.

Congratulations to WHS Senior Elizabeth Dunavin for signing with Hastings College Bowling team!

Congratulations to WHS Senior Kensely Scheulke on her signing with Morningside College to play soccer!

04/29/2013 Congrats to Emma Humphrey and TJ Sherod for participating in the Nebraska Junior Academy of sciences State Science fair April 19th at Nebraska Weslyan. To make it to state they placed in the 8th grade science fair and won top honors at the regional science fair at UNL in March. They went on to compete with 25 others across the state. TJ won special recognition for his project from the US Navy and Army in his project "hand tracking controller." Emma won recognition for her project about diabetic hyperglycemia.
