Elementary Art Program

Amanda Bultman

August 07, 2014

My name is Amanda Bultman. I am the art instructor for the elementary students attending School District #145. The District Art Program is offered at Eagle and Hamlow Elementary as well as Waverly Intermediate School, in Waverly Nebraska.

I believe that all students are artists.  My teaching philosophy aligns with Discipline Based Arts Education. DBAE focuses on student art making, the study of art history, aesthetics, and art criticism. Students in the District Art Program will experiment with the creative process; develop artistic literacy through the use of the art elements and principles of design, and build their problem solving skills through the use of a variety of media and techniques.

The district art curriculum is based on the state and national visual art standards and provides opportunities for students to create, present, respond, and connect to the visual arts. Furthermore, students will examine the cultural significance of the arts, and discover ways to become involved in the arts in their community and world.
