Preparations for the school year are in high gear as the count down has begun! Elementary summer school is in session, and in one month teachers and students will return to District 145! 

Eagle Elementary is still accepting applications for pre-school students this fall. Contact the Eagle Elementary office for details.

The Board of Education held its monthly meeting on July 5. Horizon Bank was recognized for sponsoring the annual cost of District 145's School Messenger alert system. District 145 Foundation for Education donated an additional $10,000 towards the purchase of chromebooks for students, and the Waverly and Eagle Parent Organizations contributed more than $15,000 for the upcoming school year to purchase technology for students!

Carleen Dowding, Transportation Director, reported on the thousands of miles that students were transported during the school yearThe Board heard a report from WHS Activities Director Mr. Brad McMillan about success from the previous year, and he shared changes that are planned. There will be a change of admission prices to all varsity athletic events. Adults will pay $6 for admission, while students will pay $4 (no increase). Admission prices for all non-varsity events remain the same.  

Board action was taken to approve lunch/breakfast prices, milk bids, facility rental rates, extra-duty assignments, reaffirm board policies as well as approve policy changes as well as consider policy revisions, and approved hiring of new staff...read more

We are still taking applications for custodians, bus drivers, paraprofessionals, substitute bus drivers, and substitute teachers. Please help us find people who are interested in joining our outstanding staff. 

Mark your calendars for the annual Athletic Booster Bash on Saturday, August 20 at Waverly High School. Join parents and community members and evening of food and fun, and get a preview of the fall sports season plus a chance to purchase Viking apparel and activity passes for adults to attend sporting events.

Congratulations to five FCCLA students on their excellent performance at the national competition! The FCCLA National Leadership Conference provided these WHS students opportunities to listen to inspiring speakers, expand their leadership skills, sharpen their talents, explore career pathways, network, and compete in the national STAR competitive events.
