Mrs. Flohr, Eagle Principal

August 4, 2017

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As the school year quickly approaches, I thought this would be the perfect time for me to introduce myself and share some beginning of the year information.  My name is Megan Flohr and I am extremely excited to begin this journey with you as the new principal of Eagle Elementary.  This will be my 9th year at Eagle, but my 12th year in education.  This year will be my first as principal, after teaching for eight years in a kindergarten classroom right here at Eagle Elementary. There is no place I would rather be!  The students, staff, families, and community made it an opportunity I could not pass up.  Although it is bittersweet to leave the classroom, I cannot wait to have an even bigger impact in my new role.

I grew up in Wayne, NE and received my undergrad degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education from Wayne State College.  I also received a master’s degree for Reading PreK-12 to be a reading specialist from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and a master’s degree in Educational Administration through Doane College.

My husband, Ron works for Eyecare Specialties in Lincoln and we have two beautiful daughters. Gianna is our energetic 6 year old who loves to play soccer, read books, and ride her bike and Harper is our sweet and funny 4 year old who loves singing, dancing, and making us laugh.  We also have a Bernese Mountain Dog who weighs 90 pounds!  Our dog’s name is Mya and she is our “Gentle Giant”.  My family is a huge part of who I am and I am sure you will see them around school events quite often.

Eagle Elementary is a great place to be.  Whether this is your first year with our school or your last year with us, I want it to be the best year possible.  I look forward to embarking on this educational journey with you.  If you have additional questions prior to the start of the school year please do not hesitate to call the office or email me.

Yours truly,

Megan Flohr
