 Lunch Balance & Payment

District 145 provides the option for families to view and pay their lunch balances online. This is done in partnership with our lunch software vendor (Wordware, Inc.) and an online payment processing service made for schools (e-Funds for schools).  If you are new to the district your child’s lunch ID and instructions on how to access your lunch account will be sent by mail from the Superintendent’s office. Please use this number when making future payments to your family lunch account. To avoid long lines during Meet Your Teacher Night, please feel free to bring or mail the enclosed School District 145 Lunch Account form. If you have questions or do not receive this information, please call the Central Office at 402-786-2321.

 District 145 Alerts

To provide you the best in school communication for school activities and important school messages, District 145 - Waverly utilizes School Messenger.

You will receive alert messages from your child's school via phone and/or email. There is no cost to you. Text messages to your mobile phone will be an option. As a district, we cannot send unsolicited text messages to you unless you choose this option. All applicable fees will apply regarding your service plan with your mobile phone service provider.

If you would like to receive text message alerts and currently are not receiving the text messages from 675-87, please fill out the form below or click here if it is not displaying correctly.

If you are a patron of the district, local before/after school care provider, etc. you may request to be added to the alert system using the same form below.

Prescription Medication – Prescription medications will continue to be distributed to students who are in need of this service.  Parents need to personally bring prescription medications that students need at school and sign a permission slips before medications will be given.  This is a policy that better ensures the safety of the students attending Hamlow Elementary.

Anti-Bullying Policy – One of the missions of the district is to provide a physically safe and emotionally secure environment for all students and staff.  The administration and staff are to implement strategies and practices to reinforce and encourage positive behaviors by students.  Positive behaviors include non-violence, cooperation, teamwork, understanding, and acceptance of others.  The administration and staff are to implement strategies and practices to identify and prevent inappropriate behaviors by all students, including anti-bullying education for all students.  Inappropriate behaviors include bullying, intimidation, and harassment.  Bullying means any ongoing pattern of physical, verbal or electronic abuse on school grounds, in a vehicle owned, leased, or contracted by the school being used for a school purpose by a school employee or designee, or at school sponsored activities or school sponsored athletic events.  The school district shall review the anti-bullying policy annually.

Absences – Call the school if our child is absent.  If a call is not received, it is our policy to call you.  For the child’s safety, we need to account for the child’s whereabouts.

Parent Contact – Please inform us immediately if you have had a change of address or phone number since last spring or if you move during the school year.

 Transportation

School District 145 consists of approximately 300 square miles with district property in four counties: Lancaster, Cass, Otoe, and Saunders.  The district serves the communities of Alvo, Eagle, Prairie Home, Walton, and Waverly.  Our transportation department helps safely bring students to and from school each day from all corners of this area.  If you will need transportation for your student please call the transportation department at 402-786-3015.

Students who ride the bus to school are expected to ride the bus home unless we have a signed note by the parent.  Country students are expected to board the bus at Hamlow and not walk to any of the other schools.  Please let the office know if pick up plans have changed or if someone else is picking up your child.  We will not let students change plans unless we have your permission.

Cross-town Transportation – If you live in Waverly and are close to our pickup and drop off sites, and would like your child transported to and from school, you may sign up at the Central office at 14511 Heywood, Waverly, NE.  The cost is $100 for 1 child and $135 for 2 or more children.
