Girls wrestling update at state. Emma comes up short this morning. Payton went 1-1 on the day. Mackenzie lost a hard fought semifinal match. She just defeated her opponent in the consolation and will wrestle for 3/4 yet this afternoon.
After Day 1 of the Girls State Wrestling Championships, Emma and Payton fought hard in their first ever state appearance but come up short. They will wrestle tomorrow morning in the consolation rounds. Mackenzie goes 2-0 and earned a spot in the semifinal round tomorrow at 12:30.
Girls Wrestling finishes 9th out of 14 in the Younes Hospitality Dual Tournament today out in Kearney. Jasmia was named the outstanding wrestler at 120 for the tournament. CONGRATULATIONS LADIES!!! ATTA GIRL MIA!!!!
It was a wonderful evening celebrating these ladies, their accomplishments on the mat, and their final senior season. They defeated Lincoln Southeast in the dual!! Thank you parents for your support. An elite group for sure!

Olson comes up short against Kearney in the semis. She will wrestle Blair next.
Jasmia pins Crete and moves into the heartbreak round this afternoon to take on Gering.
Olson with a first period pin and she is in the semifinals!!!! Jasmia couldn't shake Beatrice and she will begin her quest on wrestle backs tomorrow morning.

What a fantastic night honoring our senior wrestlers and their parents. A group that has been extremely important to the development of our programs. Girls defeat LSE 40-24 while the boys get another win 47-20. Well done everyone!!!
Both Mackenzie and Grace fall in the second round consi's this afternoon. These two made history for the Waverly Girls Wrestling program this year. Accomplished so much this season. Can't wait to see what you do next season! Very Proud of both of you!!!

Please join us in sending off our State Wrestlers as they leave for Omaha! We will be doing a send-off @ the high school tomorrow, Wednesday after school. The team is scheduled to leave at 4:15pm. The send off will be on the NORTH side of the building outside the main entrances.
